Epidemiology of Acute Alcohol Poisoning

Abstract

The problems associated with alcohol and, especially, with its excessive consumption, are in the world on a par with the main public health problems and cause serious damage to human health, well-being and life. The problem of alcoholism is a complex, open dynamic system, dependent on and closely related to the biological and socio-economic systems. Undoubtedly, the increased negative impact of alcohol on the health of the population is due not so much to an increase in the consumption of alcoholic beverages, but to an increase in their toxicity. Studies of the problem of alcohol poisoning are few and consider it mainly from the standpoint of the clinic, pathogenesis and resuscitation. There is practically no study and analysis of the medical, socio-economic aspects of alcohol poisoning, their structure and
prevalence.
