Graves' disease (Bazedov's disease, diffuse toxic goiter) is a systemic autoimmune disease that develops due to the production of stimulating antibodies to the thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) receptor, clinically manifested by thyroid gland damage with the development of thyrotoxicosis syndrome in combination with extrathyroid pathology (endocrine ophthalmopathy, pretibial myxedema, acropathy).
