Abstract

The modern data about the prevalence, ethnic characteristics of the metabolic syndrome and its main components (abdominal obesity, hypertension, dyslipidemia and hyperglycemia) in different ethnic groups from Europe, America, Asia and Russia are presented in the review of scientific literature.
