Abstract

Adequate funding is critical to the development of science education in tertiary institutions. Adequate funding is key to implementation of science curriculum and development of other science resources. This paper discussed adequate funding panacea for development of science Education in tertiary institutions. Secondary data were used in the paper. The secondary data were collected from print and online publications. The paper concluded that adequate funding will lead to expansion of science programme, employment of more science academic, provision of modern infrastructure facilities (laboratories), access to more in-service training by science academic, motivation of staff, development of more scientific research and ensure quality science education in the tertiary institutions. Based on these points, the paper recommended that government should increase funding of science education in tertiary institutions for the development of science infrastructure facilities.
