Abstract

The investigation focuses on understanding land use and cover patterns in Jayapura City, along with drivers and climate change impacts in coastal areas. It explores tourism's role in coastal land use and assesses its sustainability. Using a comprehensive approach combining literature review and on-the-ground data collection, the study identifies knowledge gaps and key variables. It gathers site-specific data to validate findings and inform evidence-based recommendations for resilient coastal management. Socioeconomic aspects, including impacts on local communities and indigenous groups, are considered. This research aims to promote sustainable land use practices and address the challenges posed by climate change and tourism in coastal areas.
