Abstract

This article presents a discourse analysis of the French terminosphere of astronyms. The study aims to explore the technical terminology used to name and describe celestial bodies in French language and how it shapes our understanding of these objects. The analysis is based on a corpus of texts from various sources, including scientific publications, popular science books, and online resources. The study reveals that the French terminosphere of astronyms is a complex and dynamic system that reflects cultural, historical, and scientific influences. The findings have implications for the teaching and learning of astronomy in French language.
