Abstract

The article discusses the main challenges, advantages and perspectives of introducing strategic management practices into academic structures. The author emphasizes the common aspects between the current trends and the historical conditions of the market for educational services that urged the application of strategic management to the management of HEIs in Uzbekistan. The article focuses on the relevance of strategic management in the short- and long-term development of the higher education system of Uzbekistan.
