Abstract

This study aims to determine the perceptions of fishing communities about how effective the boat assistance provided by the government is in increasing the welfare of fishermen in North Gorontalo Regency. The approach used in this study is a qualitative approach with research respondents being fishing communities in North Gorontalo District, Gorontalo Province. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews, documentation and related agency data. Data were analyzed by descriptive qualitative supported by primary and secondary data. The results of the study stated that the perceptions of the fishing community regarding the distribution of boat assistance from the regional or even provincial governments were sufficient to help fishermen improve their welfare. This can be seen from the income.
